Ottumwa Stories: Experience the 11th Bull Riders of America Finals at Bridge View Center!

It doesn’t get any more exciting than the 8-second rides of the Bull Riders of America Finals. This fun, family event pounds its way into Ottumwa on the first weekend in February every year and features the top 25 bull riders competing for buckles, prize money and - of course - bragging rights.

The most intense, bone-jarring, head-slamming weekend of the year is an 11-year partnership between the Bull Riders of America and Bridge View Center. Each February, Bridge View turns its expo hall into a dirt arena that is soon filled with bulls, riders and the most enthusiastic fans around. Too much for one day, the Finals competition takes place on both Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m.

Friday night is a special family night with fun, cowboy-themed games on the dirt before the show, beginning at 6 p.m., and mutton busting during the show. On Saturday, cheer on your favorite riders during Celebrity Bull Riding This year, both nights will also feature American Freestyle Bullfighting, in which the fighter stands in the center of the pen while the bull is released, and the fighter must survive for 40 seconds while keeping himself as near as possible to danger. And following each night of competition, the bull riders will host a meet and greet session for all fans.

There’s an exciting addition to the Bull RIders of America Finals 2022 - a large LED digital board will be set up to show live bull rides on the big screen, instant replay of the falls and great rides, time clock showing the length of ride, scoring for each rider with rider info, listing of the scores and ranking of the cowboys throughout the night. This board will enhance the experience for the audience, bringing the action even closer … if that’s possible!
